“One of the things that we do here at GCBC is produce a shop newsletter.  We mail these out and keep some of them handy on the counter.  To check out our past newsletters we have them on our website – www.gcbc.net.au” – Christine

Excellent way of getting the community you serve, all the information they need! Who does this go to and in what form? eg email, facebook, hard copy, website link?

I know Christine has a number of channels she uses to get hard copies out into the community. I’ve personally seen similar done with the newsletter being posted on the website, given out in-store, posted to customers without email, emailed to this with one and even as in insert in other publications to gain additional customers.

This could be a great way for independent stores to so build strong connection to social groups within their local area. Maybe we should offer a few different templates available for free download from this site for stores to input their own content?
